One intensivist team covers the Multidisciplinary ICU (MDICU), the Medical ICU, the Cardiac ICU and the Neuro ICU. The day's treatment is planned together during rounds.

Mechanical ventilator management
Ventilation that protects the lungs, with a daily check for weaning, and non-invasive options where they are suitable.

24/7 intensivist coverage
The intensivist team looks after the units through the day and through the night.

Renal replacement therapy
Dialysis at the bedside, including SLED, SCUFF and peritoneal dialysis, while the kidneys recover.

Point-of-care ultrasound
Echo and ultrasound done at the bedside, for a quick diagnosis and to guide procedures.

Bronchoscopy and airway care
Fibre-optic bronchoscopy and care of the difficult airway, done inside the unit.

Early rehabilitation
Physiotherapy and mobilisation from the first day it is safe, so that recovery is not delayed.

Family communication
One update every day, and one family contact person named for every patient.
